On March 7th the temple was treated to a wonderful concert by the jazz group Otonowa (Sound Circle). We can’t thank Akira Tana, Ken Okada, Art Hirahara, Mas Koga, Saki Kono and Shoko Higaki for their time and talents. Special thanks to Perry Yoshida for chairing the event and Ryoko Kozuki and her “group” for the wonderful decorations. Thank you to all the volunteers who help before, during and after the concert.

Congratulations to Tim & Karen Kawasaki and grandparents Kiyo & Aileen Kawasaki, Mike and Morgan Dudley and grandparents Ken & Alice Tanimoto. Emma Kawasaki and Julian Dudley were formally introduced to the temple sangha on Sunday, September 29th at our Hatsumairi Service.

A wonderful celebration of the birth of the Buddha was held on April 21st. Thank you to all who came out to join us. Special thanks to the temple members and friends who spent countless hours putting together another successful event.

Sunday service for our youth was held on Sunday, March 31st. After service the students created a “golden chain”.
Rev. Yoshihide Matsubayashi visited us for our Hoonko service and gave a wonderful dharma talk. We had a surprise visit from the Mayor of Watsonville Francisco Estrada. Thank you to all who came out.
Congratulations to the Tanimasa, Hirahara, Louie and Kondo families who participated in the Hatsumairi (Infant Presenation) ceremony on Ocotber 7th.
Thank you all for supporting the Tohoku Benefit with Otonowa. We had a very successful event. We are happy to report a sizable donation will be going to the continuing recovery efforts in the Tohoku region of Japan. Thank you for your generosity and participation.
